| The
birth of a Global Celebration. Australia's population has evolved
over recent decades into a highly diverse one, with its citizens
drawn from many ethnic backgrounds.
So many Australians now show their readiness to sample and enjoy
different national cuisines to discover something different in art
and culture, and the music they listen to.
Today we can enjoy an amazing range of international styles and
tastes, in our shopping and home lifestyle and furnishings, the
food and wine and particularly through various cultural and entertainment
festivals.
However, usually such festivals are limited to local parks and street-fairs
and staged in a single suburb where there's a particular ethnic
strength. This limits enjoyment to smaller audiences drawn from
each event's own ethnic community and visitors from the immediate
neighbourhood.
This means that
hundreds of thousands of people from other ethnic communities, as
well as the Australian community in general are missing out on
sharing in so many other rewarding and colourful cultures.
These people
of differing cultures don't come together in major numbers, to experience
each other's heritage and lifestyle, to learn about each other,
or to develop greater understanding and acceptance.
It is
this area that the WorldFest concept sets out to address, inviting
ALL of Sydney to come and enjoy A Global Celebration. |
